Kobe and Himeji

I woke up, grabbed my phone, checked weather forecast and figured that today gonna be raining all day long. What a day! I was planning to go to Kyoto, but because of the weather, I’ve changed it to Kobe-Himeji. It’s a west side of Kansai area. It takes around 50mins from Osaka, while it turned out to be more than 2 hours !! How come ? WE TOOK LOCAL TRAIN WHICH STOPPED IN EVERY STATION, AND THE WORSE THING, THIS TRAIN ALWAYS DEPART THE LAST.

So, after the long long 2 hours from Osaka-Himeji, we went to Himeji Castle first. Backpackers fortune, it happened that there’s Yukata festival around castle area that day. So, there’s bunch of street food, and lots of kids wearing Yukata.

This is the first time I saw Japanese-style castle, and trust me. It’ll blow your mind. I don’t get it how could they built such a building, even before they had sophisticated technology to build. I thought Japanese castle will be more less similar to Korean castle, but it turns out to be NOT AT ALL, it was completely different each other. One thing to learn: I can’t never over-generalized things.

Chinatown ?

Surprisingly, Kobe is famous for its Chinatown. It’s a bit funny, since we’re in Japan yet going to Chinatown to taste Chinese food, but as expected, Chinese food can’t never be wronged. It’s my first time going to Chinatown, and all things look reddish, and every food looks so good! I picked the cutest one. Panda pao, with bean inside.

Port Area

Kobe is a pretty big town, that has rapid economic growth (I only guess by looking at people’s car, and the port area which grows so well.) We decided to take a rest at 360 degrees rotating cafe which has a view of Kobe port area. It was actually pretty cheap, they sell large slice of cheese cake for only 500 yen.

We wrapped up the night after eating dinner and went to tea shop. Learned a lot of travelling tips today.
