Amazing Osaka

4:56 am Korean Standard Time, and I’m still awake. My biological time has changed since Ramadhan. I always awake during the night, because the evening time is shorter (it’s summer now!), I start fasting at 3:30 am, and break at 8:00 pm. While osha time is 9:20, so I choose to be awake everynight, during Ramadhan. Now, it becomes worse, because I can up until 6 in the morning, and sleep till 4 in the afternoon. Anyway! I feel like owing one post about Osaka. I spent 7 days and 6 nights in Japan, that day after Kyoto, I spent whole day in Osaka, and here is the story …

Amazing Pass

I’ve told you about how expensive Japanese transportation is, and that day, my 3 days pass of Kansai area has already expired. We had two choices left, purchased another 2 days pass for 4,800 Y or purchase Osaka pass for 2,700 Y. The price of JR pass Osaka is really crazy, how could it cost that expensive for only one day ? I can’t understand.

I just finished drying my hair, when I saw a brochure about going around Osaka, with Amazing Pass, that only cost 2,000 Y and you can go to more than 15 tourism attraction for free! I was doubting it at first, because Kansai pass only offer discount coupon, yet this one said free ? hhmm .. suspicious free thing. But, I decided to buy it at the station (remember to ask english version of the book, they usually have the printed one)

Osaka Castle

It was a sunny day, so I decided to go to Osaka Castle first. Turned out to be not a very wise decision, I was burned since the castle is pretty far from the station. But I have to admit that Japanese castle always blow my mind. I just can’t stop admiring their construction. Osaka castle is seven-story building, that has been changed into museum, and observatory.

After a long-hot-burn-walk, we reached the gate, and we just showed them our amazing pass, and they let us go without pay! SO HAPPY :)) well, they scanned the barcode, which you can’t enter same place twice, and you can only go on the day that the pass was purchased.

Osaka Bay Area

Right after Osaka castle, we’re heading to the Bay Area (where Universal Studios located). But, we’re not going there for Elmo’s house, yet to fulfil my bucket list: riding second highest ferris-wheel in the world. Tempozan Ferris Wheel ! they have all transparent glass car, but unfortunately I didn’t see that, so we just ride the basic one. Again, it’s free.

We ate lunch, and then heading to Santa Maria cruise. It goes around the bay, with classic-old europe style ship. We waited for about 30 mins, another free tourism attraction! feeling so rich, sailing in such a hot day (it’s irrelevant uh)

Craving for cheese-cake!

After sailing, we became a little hungry. Then, we looked up the Amazing Pass book, and found this bakery store specialised in cheesecake, and we have coupon for free waffle after purchase. Such a great use, i really love this pass. The cheesecake store called Pablo, each cake cost 700 Y. For a whole cake (which is very cheap!) they have two kinds: rare or medium. We choosed the medium one, and it was melted. I don’t know what will happened if we choosed the rare one.

The funniest thing was: there’s no place to eat our cheesecake, and one thing that came into my mind, when we were searching for seat was: going to ferris wheel! (again) since, there’s another ferris wheel surrounded, called Hep Five. I opened the book, and it turned out to be ree. So, why not riding another ferris wheel for eating cheesecake ? here we go!

Umeda Sky Building

This building is claimed to be one of the best and also 12th tallest building in the world. It also called floating garden, which makes me confused, since there’s no garden up there. It turns out that ‘garden’ means the area that we can observed upstairs.

It maybe the best rooftop I’ve ever been. since it was so clear. I can take a picture without being cover by fence, maybe that’s why lots of professional photographers comes everyday to do their job. It’s a wrap for our day in Osaka. We wen’t to another cruise downtown, in Shinsaibashi area, but unfortunately the ticket has already sold out. So we called it a day, and having dinner.
